English School, first quarter of 20th century. "Boats at Sunset"-circa 1917, illegibly signed lower right, possibly "M.A. Roberti". Marine painting depicting boats on a choppy sea beside a curved wooden pier with structure built on end, figure walking toward end with water spilling over the railings in the wind at sunset with pink and purple tinted clouds overhead. Verso of canvas with stencil mark from Winsor & Newton, London. Framed approximately 30" x 37.125". Unframed approximately 20.125" x 27.125".
