Lou Messa (American, 20th century), "Untitled (Bskets)", watercolor on paper, signed to lower right "Lou Messa". Watercolor painting depicting an autumnal field with two baskets and scattered golden apples, with artist's label to verso. Framed approximately 15" x 22.5". Sight approximately 6" x 12.75". Provenance: Property from the Estate of Mr. John L. Roper II, Former Owner and CEO of NORSHIPCO (Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corporation), of Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. Roper collected a number of fine American antiques and art including a noteworthy early American coin collection that sold at auction in 2014.
