English, circa 1937. George VI limed oak and green velour upholstered 'Coronation' chair, May 12, 1937, having the padded back rest with monarch's initials and crown embroidered on the front above the over-wrapped covered padded seat raised on slightly chamfered square legs. Stamped to the underside of back seatrail 'GRVI' the crown and 'CORONATION' also impressed with the original manufacturer 'B NORTH & SONS WEST WYCOMBE'. Approximate height 33.25", width 19.25", seat depth 14", seat height 18".
