Chinese School, Qing Dynasty, 19th century or earlier. A large and exquisite silk embroidery panel comprising dark green ground with large white flowering tree at right and two roosters or cockerels in the landscape, one bird being pure white and the other white with blue wings and black tail feathers, the colorful bird perched on the ground beside small white flowers and the white bird in mid-flight preparing to attack the other, the pristine needlework comprising tones of blue, red, tan, black, pink, white, and metallic thread. Framed approximately 83" x 53.25". Sight size of textile approximately 79.5" x 50".
