Gilbert A. Franklin (1919-2004) Abstract Sculpture Patinated bronze, travertine marble United States, late 20th century Dynamic arrangement of cone sections, rectangular bar, and a hemisphere, unmarked, mounted on a travertine base, with a custom wooden plinth, ht. 30 in. Note: Franklin grew up in New England. He was a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome and for many years a professor and dean at Rhode Island School of Design. His work is in the permanent collections of several museums including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
