Joseph Whiting Stock (Springfield, Massachusetts area, 1815-1855) Portrait of the Child with Cat , late 1830's. The blue-eyed little girl who wears a green dress and holds a red rose in her left hand stands on a yellow, green, and red ingrain carpet which she shares with a gray tabby cat. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, sight 31 x 23 in., in an original gilt molded frame. Condition: Very good, two minor losses, minor craquelure.
