Federal Mahogany Inlaid Butler's Desk, New York city, c. 1805, the inlaid top overhangs a butler's desk which includes an interior of string-inlaid small drawers and open valanced compartments flanking the central prospect door which opens to two drawers, one of which is valanced, the cockbeaded fa~ade includes the top oval inlaid desk element above the three graduated drawers over a serpentine skirt with central cutout flanked by flaring French feet, with serpentine sides, original brass, old refinish, (minor surface imperfections), ht. 45 1/8, wd. 45 1/4, dp. 20 1/2 in.
