Mother-of-pearl Inlaid Mahogany Veneer Box, America, 1843, hinged lid with brass swing handle on rectangular box inlaid with heart, hand, diamond, circle, and bird motifs, the interior fitted with brown velvet lined compartments, label on base inscribed "This Box was made in 1843 by Henry Mather," (small veneer loss at corner, wear), ht. 3 3/4, lg. 11 1/8, dp. 7 in.
