Carved Wooden Cookie Board, James Y. Watkins, New York, late 19th century, square board with circular relief carved design of a gentleman on horseback, surrounded by flowers and foliage, impressed "J.Y. WATKINS N.Y." on one corner and "J. CONGER" on two edges, 10 3/4 x 10 3/4 in. Note: James Y. Watkins was a successor of the most famous New York mold maker John Conger. Watkins copied many older Conger motifs using mechanical carving devices.
