Classical Mahogany Carved Lyre Banjo Timepiece, Aaron Willard, Jr. , Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1825, the urn-turned finial above a molded wooden bezel opening to a painted metal dial inscribed "A Willard, Jr., Boston," and eight-day weight-driven movement above the acanthus leaf scroll-carved throat and pendulum box, both with eglomise tablets, all resting on molded bracket, old refinish, old replaced tablets, ht. 40 1/2 in. Provenance: Accompanied by bill of sale "Oct. 25, 1946 sold to Dr. A. Cossidente Aaron Willard Jr. lyre clock for the sum of $200.00 (cash) Carl Knudsen."
