Japanese, Edo Period (1603-1867), likely early 19th century. A kakemono or hanging scroll hand painted with watercolor on silk depicting soft white blossoms on a branch extending from a rock formation at right on a grassy embankment flanked to left by a sitting bird. Inscribed to right with one line of calligraphic marks above two red seals, possibly a signature for Baiezu Yamamoto. Silk painting surrounded by cloud decorated embroidered silk, the scroll with blonde faux wood roller and housed in a wooden box with black calligraphic marks to sliding lid. Overall approximately 52" long x 19.25" wide (including roller)._x000D_
