Japanese, Edo Period (1603-1868), Kano School. A hand painted six-panel floor screen, apparently unsigned, verso with with label on green patterned back "Naga Antiques 145 E. 61st Street NY, NY 10021 615 S-6B Pavilion with Bridge Kano School 17th Cent. 42" High x 112" Long". Screen depicting a pavilion with two character text in red sign under sloped thatched roof near a lake, with foot bridge, with water fowl (ducks) and other birds including peacock, red bird and brown bird, with stylized trees, flowers and rocky cliffs, with muted gold metallic background, with two fabric borders within ebonized wood frame accented with silvered metal pierced ornament at corners and middle sections. Each panel approximately 42" x 19.125".
