Federal Mahogany and Eglomise Mirror, New England, early 19th century, the molded projecting cornice above shaped pendants and reeded pilasters flanking the tablet showing the sea battle "Frolic and Wasp," with mirror below, (imperfections), ht. 26 3/4, wd. 12 1/2 in. Note: The Wasp and the Frolic engaged on October 15, 1812, the Wasp emerging from the encounter victorious, her crew having boarded their adversary.
