Inlaid Wooden Tea Caddy and a Mahogany Sewing Box, England and or America, early 19th century, rectangular tea caddy with inlaid stringing and satinwood veneer panels on the hinged lid and sides, scrolled foliate gilt brass swing handle and escutcheon, the interior fitted with three compartments with a lid (not original); together with a rectangular sewing box with diamond-shaped mother-of-pearl escutcheon, the hinged lid opens to a cavity with a compartmented lift-out tray and lined with pink paper, (cracks and veneer losses on the first, wear to the second), 4 1/2 x 7 1/8 x 4 1/8; 6 1/4 x 11 x 8 in. caddy- losses to stringing on front both ends, small 1/2 x 1/3 in. loss to venneer on side border. sewing box- old surface scratches, small loss to front rt. cover corner.
