Small Steiff White Mohair Teddy Bear, c. 1905, with underscored "F" button in ear, black shoe button eyes, light brown embroidered nose and claws, excelsior stuffing, swivel joints at neck, shoulders, and hips, long limbs and cream-colored felt pads, ht. 10 in., (scattered moth damage on face, back of body and right leg). Provenance: The little brother of the large bear in the previous lot. Purchased from the estate of Anne M. Bullitt, wife of William Christian Bullitt, Ambassador to the Soviet Union under Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The couple had residences in Ashland, Massachusetts, and Dublin, Ireland.
