American Coin Silver Presentation Mug, unmarked, c. 1838, cylindrical, with two reeded waist bands, tooled with leaftip at rim, and with leafy scrolls to base and handle, engraved with presentation inscription related to the Cherry Hill Academy, Beverly, Massachusetts, and dated 1838, ht. to handle 4 3/8 in., approx. 6 troy oz. handle repaired at join to body at base. age surface wear, and wear from cleaning to upper rim and inscription. Inscription reads in full: Presented to Joseph H. Siewars as a token of love and respect by his pupils at the Cherry Hill Academy, Beverly Mass., October 2nd 1838"
