Grenfell Hooked Picture Mat with Flying Ducks, attributed to Grenfell Labrador Industries, Newfoundland and Labrador, early 20th century, rectangular rug composed of bleached and dyed rayon and silk strips hooked onto a burlap backing, depicting four mallard ducks in flight rising from the water with foliage in the foreground and distant rockery, worked in shades of brown, yellow, off-white, blue, black, and green, with thin tan and wide brown borders, vestiges of a woven maker's label affixed to the reverse, mounted on a wooden stretcher, 52 3/4 x 39 3/4 in.
