Attributed to the Puffy Sleeve Artist, (American, active c. 1830) Miniature Silhouette Portrait of a Woman Wearing a Pink Dress Holding a Book. Unsigned. Hollow-cut profile head and watercolor two-thirds frontal posture portrait on paper, the figure wearing a comb in her hair, a pink dress, a white organdy shawl, and a blue ribbon necklace and sash, sight size 3 1/2 x 2 5/8 in., in a molded giltwood frame with rope inset. Condition: Toning. Note: A partial penciled inscription on the back reads "pink cape."
