Pair of Mahogany Inlaid Shield-back Side Chairs, probably Norfolk, Virginia, c. 1800, the heart-back molded crests above the quarter and demi-lune inlaid fans flanked by vertical heart-carved splats entering into inlaid lunettes at the base of the shields, the molded and curved back supports above the overupholstered seat with serpentine front rails above string and bellflower-inlaid square tapering front legs ending in spade feet, with rounded rear legs, refinished, (repairs), ht. 38 3/4, seat ht. 17 5/8 in.
