Italian, 17th C. Italian Baroque walnut carved Cassone, marriage, dowry, blanket chest or trunk with snipe hinged overhanging rectangular molded top, enclosing a fabric lined interior. The exterior with a leaf carved panel front at the top and base, the base hosting a long drawer, the middle panel with rosettes and blind arcading decoration, the whole on four shaped feet. Height 25", width 57", depth 19.5".
