Finely wrought Norwich, Connecticut silk on linen band sampler, ca. 1780 , inscribed "Hannah Punderson" with alphabets, tulips, flower trees, and geometric designs worked in various stitiches in green, blue, black, yellow, tan, and white, 15" x 5 1/2". For similar works, see Sothebys, January 1988, Lots 1538 and 1539, both works not dated as in this example. Provenance: Stephen and Carol Huber.
