Russian Icon Depicting Holy John the Forerunner, 19th century, shown with gilded wings and a scroll in one hand above a diskos containing infant Christ, beneath him is the scene of his beheading and above him is the Savior in the clouds, 12 x 10 1/2 in. Craquelure to painted surface. Small areas of retouching. Some deterioration to paint by his raised hand. Panel slightly warped with nicks to edge. One wedge removed from back.
