English or American (Boston), c. 1800-1820. An English Regency or American Empire giltwood convex or bull's eye mirror decorated with an elaborate crest comprising a large eagle with spread wings and elongated neck atop a rocky cliff flanked by high relief carved acanthus leaf scrolls with central relief carved flowers, the round frame with sphericals decorating the sight, the base decorated with acanthus carved leaf spray below flanking the central flower and leaf motif. Approximate height 48.5", width 30.5", depth 11".
