The Rotary Club of Madureira plaque features lettering that reads "Ao Edison Arantes/ do Nascimento,/ Pelé./ as homenagems do Rotary/ Clube de Madureira, por ocasião/ de seu milesimo gol./ Rio, 19 de novembro de 1969 [To Edison Arantes/ do Nascimento/ Pelé./ A tribute from the Rotary/ Club Madureira, on the occasion/ of his thousandth goal./ Rio, November 19, 1969.]."
