A certificate presented to Pelé by the G. R. Samba School X-9 for an honorary knighthood degree in the Order of the Golden Straw Boater. Samba schools provided training in marching and other aspects relating to yearly Carnival celebrations. The certificate includes Pelé's birth name executed in calligraphy with black, green, and gold ink, and is dated February 25, 1968.
