“V & A” Swiss, No. 6288. Made circa 1900. Fine, double-dialled 18K pink gold and champleve enamel hunting cased keyless pocket watch with day and date indications. Three-body, “bassine”, polished, hinged and sprung front cover with red and blue champleve guilloche enamel monogram “V & A”, back cover opening to reveal the calendar. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Calendar dial: white enamel, annular, outer date ring and inner ring for the days of the week. Gold “spade” hands. 19’’’, nickel, “fausses cotes” decoration, 18 jewels, 2 in scrued gold châtons, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance, index regulator, the calendar star-wheels geared to the centre-wheel.
