The Mandolin Swiss, case No. 23918. Made circa 1890. Fine, 18K gold and enamel lady’s mandolin-form watch with concealed dial. Four-body, "fermée" type, entirely engraved, decorated with flowers and foliage in polychrome champlevé enamel, the back centered with a dragonfly, winding crown forming the lower finial, gold suspension chain. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel, Arabic numerals, gold paillon dot minute divisions. Gold pierced hands. 10’’’, gilt brass bar caliber, 8 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Dim. 65 x 26.6 mm.
