PATEK PHILIPPE, REF. 570, OVERSIZE STEEL BREGUET NUMERALS Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, "Calatrava", No. 921657, case No. 507747, Ref. 570. Made in 1942, sold on May 21st, 1942. Very fine and very rare, oversized, stainless steel Staybrite gentleman's wristwatch with Breguet numerals and a stainless steel Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives and a fitted box. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, flat bezel, concave lugs. Silver with applied steel Breguet numerals, subsidiary seconds, outer engraved dot minute indexes. Steel "Feuille" hands. Cal. 12'''-120, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Notes DIAM. 36 mm. THICKNESS 9 mm. Always impressive by its larger size for the time (a full 36 mm), the reference 570 has to be one of the most elegant dress watches ever produced by Patek Philippe. The 570 was characterized by its flat bezel giving it an ever wider appearance. Confirmed by the extract of the archives as being originally delivered with Breguet numerals, it is to the best of our knowledge only the second example in steel with this configuration.
