Two Pieced Cotton Quilts, the Star of Bethlehem pattern quilt with large central eight-point star constructed of diamond-shaped segments of solid shades of pink and green fabrics, on a white cotton ground, bordered with bands of pink and green fabric and backed with solid green, with outline, feathered hearts, interlaced diamond, and rope quilting stitches, 86 x 100; Amish with central field of blue and brown-toned nine-patch squares alternating with pink squares, with dark and medium blue borders, backed and edged with black fabric, with compass blossom, diagonal line, chevron, and chain quilting stitches, 72 x 86 in. Star of Bethlehem -late 20th c., washed several times, soft hand, some fading and fraying on edges, mostly hand-stitched, machine stitching under edging; Amish nine-patch- wear, washed condition, stains, fraying, and scattered losses.
