George Prior Triple-case Watch for the Turkish Market, London, c. 1780, no. 5017, the repousse outer base metal case with foliate pattern opens to the faux tortoiseshell and silver-pinned case, then to the inner base metal case with decorative bezel, and finally to the hallmarked silver case and porcelain dial with Turkish numerals and marked Geo. Prior/London , the swing-out verge-escapement, fusee movement marked Geo. Prior/London/5017 , pierced balance cock and foot, pierced vase-shaped pillars and silvered regulating dial, dia. fully cased 80 mm. Replacement hands, minor scratching on dial, movement complete but wants cleaning.
