Newspapers, Boston Massacre: Providence Gazette and Country Journal . Approximately one hundred issues, from January 13, 1770 to December 22, 1770, and January 5, 1771 to December 21, 1771, moderate damage to the first and last few in the 1770 group, serious damage to the 1771 group, internal issues are in better condition. The entire front page of the March 10-17, 1770 issue is taken up with a report on the Boston Massacre, which occurred on the twelfth. "A Mulattoe man, named Crispus Attucks, who was born in Framingham, but lately belonged to New Providence, was here in order to go for North Carolina, also killed instantly; two balls entering his breast, one of them in special goring the right lobe of the lungs, and a great part of the liver, most horribly."
