To Secretary of the Treasury Louis McLane (1786-1857) while Harrison was a private citizen in North Bend, Ohio, attempting to resolve a debt owed by Harrison's deceased son, John Cleves Symmes Harrison (1798-1830) to the U.S. Treasury Department, with reference to a report never made by General Land Commissioner Elijah Hayward, and a detailed description of Harrison's property in Vincennes, Ohio, offered to secure the debt. Age-toned, with old folds and some ink bleed, 8 x 9 3/4 in.
