Howard Clock Company, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1885, both with hinged bezels, eight-day, lever-escapement, time-only movements, 8 1/2-in. engraved silvered dials, one mounted on a shield-form mahogany base with Roman numerals and marked Star Brass Mfg. Co. Boston, Mass. ; the other with Arabic numerals, marked Howard Clock 1166 and The Ashton Valve Co. Boston, Mass. , both approximately dia. 10 3/4 in. Age consistent wear on cases, slight dial imperfections, both movements running, Roman numeral dial with losses to silvering.
