Empire Seed Pearl Peigne , Paris, France, 1809-19, with delicate seed pearl feather motifs on textured gold ground, gilt metal mount, and removable silver finding for comb or diadem conversion, lg. 8 in., with maker's mark and guarantee stamps. No. 505 on both teeth and comb. French marks from 1809-19. Some tarnish and discoloration to gold plate. Impressions to feather motifs at ends from removing the teeth. Some seed pearls missing, unobtrusive, and a bit skew. Photographed as a diadem, but teeth are removable and can be placed back in as a comb mount.
