Jewell & Co., Waltham, Massachusetts, third quarter 19th century, flattened full-body figure, with boss eyes, mounted on a shaped landscape sheet iron base, including stand, (imperfections), overall ht. 25 3/8, lg. 33 in. Literature: A similar weather vane is illustrated in The Art of the Weathervane, by Steve Miller, Schiffer Publishing Ltd., Pennsylvania, 1984, p. 133. Surface has been regilded at some point, minor dents on mane.
