Inscribed by the artist "Drawn by Henry Walton 1835" l.c., the subject identified in Henry Walton's distinctive ink inscription on the reverse. Watercolor on paper, 8 7/8 x 6 3/8 in., depicting the woman wearing a fancy white bonnet with blue ribbons and a black dress with a white ruffled collar, holding a book in one hand, one arm resting on a work table beside her set with sewing implements, in a molded tiger maple frame. Condition: Good, minor toning.
