Four Piece French . 950 Silver Tea and Coffee Service, c. 1875, comprising pear-shaped coffeepot and teapot, creamer, and covered sugar, the necks chased and embossed with floral garlands, with angled waist bands accented with band of diagonal fluting, with girdle band of running laurel, molded to each side with a central shield engraved with a coronet of rank, on acanthus-topped hairy paw feet, coffeepot ht. 9 3/4 in., approx. 79 troy oz. total. Provenance: From a titled German family. suagr with two tiny pinpoints to underside of body. teapot: interior showing very light compression of body onto one foot. Coffeepot: interior showing repair of compression of body onto one foot, and light compression of body over another foot. overall light usage wear. light nicks to edges.
