British Sailor's Wool Needlework Picture of a Sailing Ship, mid 19th century, rectangular, stitched with a two masted sailing vessel flying the British flag, in walnut frame with gilt inner slip, sight size 33 3/8 x 23 1/2, frame 42 3/8 x 32 1/2 in. some wear/loss to wool at outer edges, and a few small scattered spots within picture. some shrinkage cracks and minor losses to veneer of frame. some possible bloom present under glass at upper edge and upper left and right corners--seems to be mainly on glass, rather than on needlework. age typical minor light toning. Frame likely original.
