Rare pair of Rhode Island windsor side chairs, ca. 1790 , each with a braced bow back, scalloped seat and boldly turned legs joined by stretchers. Chairs retain an excellent red over original green and grey undercoated surface. For similar example, see Windsor Style in American, Vol. II by Santore, plates 139 and 140.
