BEETLE FORM WATCH GOLD AND ENAMEL Swiss. Made circa 1890. Fine, 18K gold, enamel and rose-cut diamond-set keyless pendant form watch with concealed dial in the form of a beetle. Accompanied by an associated blue enamel and gold chain. Four-body, spring-loaded wings, translucent blue enamel over engine-turning and set with rose-cut diamonds, opening to reveal the dial, the neck black enameled and set with diamonds, rose-cut ruby eyes, hinged realistically cast and chased underside. Glazed cuvette. White enamel, radial blue Arabic numerals and red 12, gilt dot outer minute track. Gold spade hands. 7’’’, gilt, bar calibre, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Diam. 48 x 20.5 mm.
