Rare early pair of Philadelphia Queen Anne walnut dining chairs, ca. 1740 , each with carved yolk crest over a vasiform splat above a trapezoidal seat frame, supported by cabriole legs terminating in stockinged feet joined by flat serpentine stretchers. Provenance: Pioneer Philadelphia collector and author, and the Humphreys family of Philadelphia.
