Tortel à Paris. French, circa 1780. Gilt bronze and marbIe striking mantle clock with date, day of the week and planetary sign. White marbie, gilt bronze mounts with flowers and arabesques, quivers, acanthus foliage and figures of Athena and emblems of War and Peace, on six turned vase feet, with eagle finial. White enamel, Arabic numerals and concentric rings for calendrical information. Louis XVI gilt hands, blued steel pointers for calendar and centre-seconds. Brass, with circular plates, locking plate hour and half-hour striking, pin-wheel escapement and sunburst pendulum. In very good condition. Dim. 65x45 cm.
