Godemar Fs à Genève, circa 1790. Extremely rare and fine gold "Pouzait" lever watch with quarter-repeating. Double body, massive, "Empire" style with engine-turned border and glazed back. White enamel, Arabic numerals. Golci moon hands set through the dial plate with sweep centre-seconds. Frosted ancI gilt full plate, turned pillars and going barrel, Pouzait type pin lever escapement with second beating spiral 4-armed rose diamond set balance with engraved bridge-cock. Push pendant quarter-repeating on a bell countersunk in the plates. GiIt dust ring. Signed on movement. In good condition. Diam. 57mm. Notes J. M. Pouzait, inventor of this slow beating lever escapement worked in partnership with Godemar of Geneva from circa 1780 to 1800. Examples with a repeating train are virtually unknown.
