Frederich Guye & Frères à Paris, circa 1791. Fine and unusual silver watch with Revolutionary mottoes, made during the Constitutional Monarchy. Double body, "forme quatre baguettes", polished. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chair, verge escapement with plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock pierced and engraved with a monogram, polished steel end-piece. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm. Notes Fine example in very good condition of a popular watch, produced during the short period of the French Revolution, just before the arrest of the King. Such watches are usually found in very poor condition.
