Large Photographic Reproduction of Duran's Portrait of Mrs. William Astor, taken from the original by Charles-Émile-Auguste Carolus-Duran (French, 1838–1917) titled Mrs. William Astor (Caroline Webster Schermerhorn, 1831–1908), 94 1/2 x 48 in.. Note: Mrs. Astor was known to receive guests at Beechwood while standing before this portrait where it hung in the entrance hall. This life-sized reproduction has hung in Beechwood in the same spot in which the original resided. The original portrait was given to the Metropolitan Museum in New York in 1949.
