Italian Violin, Gaetano Pollastri, Bologna, 1945, bearing the maker's original label and brand to the lower rib, length of back 357 mm. Excellent. No visible cracks. Abrasions and wear to varnish, minor scratches. Varnish is a very thin, golden orange color. Original Pollastri bridge. No signs of top removal or re-graduation. All thicknesses normal and regular: Back 3.75 center, 2.7 upper bouts, 2.5 lower Top: 3.5 at soundpost, 2.7 at upper bouts, 2.8 at lower. Weight is 480 grams withnormal chinrest.
