Jack Youngerman (American, b. 1926) Aug 4 1969 Initialed and dated "JY 69" in pencil l.r., inscribed "...Aug 4 Youngerman" and identified on a label from Obelisk Gallery, Boston, on the backing. Acrylic on paper, sheet size 28 7/8 x 23 in. (73.3 x 58.4 cm), framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame. Provenance: Collection of Melvin B. Nessel, Boston, Massachusetts. Signed and dated in pencil "Youngerman/Aug 4 1969" on the reverse. There are tack holes in three of the corners. The work is floated in its frame, and is hinged in two places along the top with linen tape to the backing of linen-covered mat board. The reverse of the sheet has tape residue in three places along the top. Paper is dry stamped "Strathmore."
