Coin Silver Cake Basket, mid-19th century, New York, Eoff & Shepherd, makers, retailed by Ball, Black & Co. , chased and embossed with fruiting grapevines to the everted rim, raised on four grapevine crabstock feet, with cast, upright, removable openwork grapevine handle, engraved to center with mottoed coat of arms, dia. 12 in., approx. 27 troy oz. good, with minor surface scratching and age wear. handle disattaches from the loops on the body (one of the pegs at the end of handle is slightly larger than the other, and does not fit fully flush into loop). motto: Deo Fidendum
