Grueby Pottery Vase with Slag Glass Shade Art pottery, art glass, and metal Boston, Massachusetts Large Grueby pottery vase in green glaze with broad overlapping leaves alternated by buds with trailing stems, marked on base, Grueby Pottery, Boston, U. S.A., ht. 11 1/2, fitted with a domed shade composed of a mosaic of slag glass, autumnal leaves with shaped lower border joined by struts to three-socket mount with patinated metal font and electrical cord that fits in base, shade unmarked, dia. 18 1/4 in. Note: Grueby pottery lamps were often fitted with Bigelow and Kennard shades. Finial and some washers later. Pottery is not drilled.
