Pair of Italian Neoclassical Painted and Parcel-gilt Gesso and Fruitwood Demilune Console Tables , early 19th century, the frieze carved with acanthus scrolls, branches, and paterae, on fluted, square-section, tapering legs, ht. 36 1/4, wd. 41, dp. 20 1/4 in. both tops with restored shrinkage cracks (old restorations), and some bowing; wear to the faux marble painted surface of top; some edge wear and surface loss to top. The applied patera plaques at back corners of frieze bowed/lifting somewhat. Both tables with somewhat loose joints. Overall age wear, including edge chips/gouges, flaking and scattered losses to paint and gilding, and overall minor worming.
